Personal Assistant


£8.45 per hour

ENABLE Scotland is a dynamic and vibrant organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and we have full and part time opportunities for you to support John in Keith to make the most of his life.

That could mean supporting him to live independently in their own homes or take part in activities we take for granted. And, who knows, it could make a difference to your life as well.

John is a mature gentleman, He lives on his own in Keith Moray. John requires support from staff on a 2:1 basis, 7 days per week. Support times are between; 08:00-17:00, 17:00-23:00, 09:00-23:00 sleepover 07:00-09:00. You will be required to work days, evenings, sleepovers and weekend. A monthly rostering system is in place. John requires support with shopping, housework, bus-outings and attending various meetings. ENABLE Scotland encourage individuals to take part in fulfilling and meaningful activities which promotes a person centered approach as well as promoting independence and inclusion both within a supportive environment and within the local community.

Activities may include supporting John to access leisure opportunities, using his tablet, socialising, shopping, baking, attending shows at the local theatre, interested in Farming and attending the Black Isle Show and going for coffee and cake on a Saturday.

• The ability to adapt your communication style in order to develop successful and enjoyable relationships with the people we support.
• The commitment to work with individuals through their personal support plans to ensure people achieve their goals and outcomes and celebrate their successes.
• A positive and flexible outlook to your work, and be able to work on your own and as part of a team.

Previous experience supporting adults with Autism, Epilepsy, Mental Health and complex care needs would be advantageous
