Do you have what it takes to make a difference?

Would you like to do something different next Monday morning? To forget the never-ending 9-5 and make a real difference to someone’s life? Or maybe you are already working in social care and want to join an organisation with values at its core?

ENABLE Scotland is a dynamic and vibrant organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and we have an exciting opportunity within Kingsknowe area in Edinburgh for you to support Lily to make the most of her life.

That could mean supporting her to live independently in her own home or take part in activities we take for granted. And, who knows, it could make a difference to your life as well.

Here’s a little more about Lily:
“I am a young woman who has just moved into my own home in the Autumn and I am looking forward to building my independence. Some of my interests at the moment are keeping up to date with the Australian soap Neighbours, listening to music, chatting, going to the cinema (I really enjoy Rom Coms!), I enjoy being read to and most of all I enjoy Christmas time!”

If you think you could share the same interests and have the commitment to support Jane to get the most out of life, this might be the opportunity for you.

If successful your role will include:
• Assisting with shopping
• Assisting with my personal care
• Assistance with mobility aid
• Assisting with food preparation
• Helping with household chores
• Attending health appointments
• Planning and engaging in Social Activities

We have several permanent posts available working between 40 and 100 hours every 4 weeks. Typical hours of support with Lily are Monday – Friday and will involve shift rotations through the following shift pattern:
• 8.30am-1.30pm
• 1.30pm – 6.30pm
• 6.30pm – 8.30am including sleepover

Please include in your application your preferred hours and availability.
There may be occasions when you will be required to work out with these hours and notice will be given in advance.

What’s also great about ENABLE Scotland is that we believe in developing all our staff and provide an extensive training programme, combined with a commitment to create career development opportunities including SVQ Level 2. We also provide excellent employee benefits including a Contributory Pension Scheme and an Employee Healthcare Plan.
