ENABLE Scotland is a dynamic and vibrant organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and we have an exciting opportunity for you to support a gentleman in Stirling to make the most of his life.

We have 2 part-time posts and other various hours. The gentleman you will be supporting stays in his own home in the Stirling area and has his own car so you will need a clean driving licence to access places of interest.

You will need to have a positive attitude, a friendly, outgoing personality and be able to contribute to purposeful and planned community activities.

If successful your role would include some of the following:
• Supporting the gentleman with day to day living including paying bills, personal care and household chores
• Planning days out and activities to places of interest.
• Staying in the house and watching TV shows like Dr Who and various movies when the gentleman doesn't wish to go out.
• Following clear and consistent guidelines around physical and verbal communication and developing strategies to meet the needs of the gentleman you will be supporting

We are looking for personal assistants who must have the following qualities/skills –
• A car driver
• A good sense of humour
• Creativity and flexibility
• Open, friendly nature but able to be firm when required
• Ability to set and adhere to boundaries, following supporting strategies and risk assessments
• Adaptable to situations and able to think clearly when under pressure
• Awareness / experience of those with a learning/physical disability
