ENABLE Scotland is a dynamic and vibrant organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and we have an exciting opportunity for someone to lead the development and facilitation of ENABLE Scotland’s Activism Strategy in the Greater Glasgow region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional skilled in campaigns and activism work to be part of the Campaigns and Activism team at ENABLE Scotland, winners of Scottish Charity Awards Cracking Campaign Award in 2017.

The Activism Facilitator will work with our members towards creating an equal society for every person who has a learning disability. You will coordinate and facilitate ACE groups (adults aged 18 +) and ACE Youth Groups (aged 14-18 years) across the region. You will also work to grow the ENABLE Family in your area.

ACE is An Active Community of Empowered People who have Learning Disabilities.

Through their work with ACE, Activism Facilitators:
• Connect people who have learning disabilities in every community around a shared cause.
• Empower people who have learning disabilities to have a local and national voice
• Empower ENABLE Scotland to achieve our cause.
• Campaign locally and nationally to challenge barriers to an equal society for every person who has a learning disability
• Engage people who have learning disabilities in local and national activism to challenge society’s perception on learning disability.

Activism Facilitators are values driven, passionate about change and visualising how this should happen and creative thinkers, who brings a strategic and solutions focused approach to local activism; a collaborative approach to national campaigning and activism; and who have an engaging professional personality that can persuade decision makers and members alike to join in and support our campaigns initiatives.

You must be flexible with your working time and able to travel across the region therefore use of your own vehicle and a valid UK / EU drivers license is essential.
