Personal Assistant

We have an exciting vacancy for a confident and motivated person to support a gentleman who lives in the Twechar area of East Dunbartonshire and attends a Glasgow College.

You would be required to meet this gentleman from college and support him to his chosen activity then support him home to Twechar on the days he is at college.

He is looking for someone who is enthusiastic, committed, reliable, motivated, and proactive with an ability to use their initiative to work autonomously in order to support him to meet his outcomes of support and will work with others in his support team to ensure consistency around his support. Staff will be working within a small team to help him build his confidence, develop connections in his local and wider community. This involves travelling within the Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire areas

This gentleman enjoys tennis, sports, eating out, watching TV, playing PS3/4 and going to the cinema. If you think you could share the same interests and have the commitment to support him to get the most out of life, this might be the opportunity for you.

You must have a positive and flexible outlook to your work, and be able to work on your own and as part of a team. An understanding and sharing of person-centered values is key to supporting individuals to plan and work towards their outcomes. Flexibility is required as the hours of work vary. A good understanding of autism would also be beneficial.
