ENABLE Scotland Edinburgh & Lothian

Read Heather's ENABLE Scotland story so far ...

In Edinburgh & the Lothians, ENABLE Scotland supports people of all ages who have learning disabilities. And because everyone is different, the kind of support we offer is different too.

Heather has been supported by ENABLE Scotland since 2005. She enjoys planning days so she can find new interests and set outcomes.

“My outcomes are to ski, go horse riding, camping, to get my own house and to gain confidence.”

Heather has achieved some of these goals already. She went on a two-day camping trip to the Pentland Hills and now does more things by herself which has helped her gain confidence.

“ ENABLE Scotland encouraged me to do things. I used to go everywhere with my support workers. Now I have met lots of people through being a part of the Advisory Committee of ENABLE and I go to meetings in Glasgow and Stirling by myself on the train.”

We tailor our support to suit each person, so our services are as varied and individual as the people who use them. Our recruitment process follows this. At ENABLE Scotland the individuals that we support are the ones that matter.

Many of the people we support tell us that the help they get from ENABLE Scotland has changed their lives.

Our new Edinburgh & Lothian office opened in 2014. Today we continue to help people across Edinburgh & Lothian to find the support they need to live the life they choose.

Our office is located at: Birch House, 10 Bankhead Crossway South, Edinburgh, EH11 4EP, T: 0131 453 3186
